The employment of the military function in a crisis. An instrument of national power

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the contribution made by the military function in the context known as “Crisis”. Although the crisis is a tool of political power, to achieve objectives that benefit the future of its State, it uses the instruments of national power, including the military function, to achieve, through the crisis maneuver, obtain objectives that are of interest to possess for the entire nation. This crisis, and its maneuvering, can be channeled through diplomatic relations, reaching to defuse it or go to war. That is where the importance of knowing about this maneuver lies on the part of those who carry it out, using the necessary instruments that allow, to make the other party desist from continuing to escalate this crisis and thus be able to defuse it until it returns to normal. To fulfill the purpose of this research, it is important to define in a concrete way what is understood by military function, likewise, to make a deep analysis of those elements that will be necessary to determine facts, the method used to solve the crisis, and the real contribution of the military function.
