Abstract
The Crimean War marked a significant change in the way war was waged in the mid-nineteenth century. Although this was fought, in the tactical field, in a similar way to the Napoleonic wars, later moving to a war of siege, the real difference was in the incorporation of new technologies. These innovations would be incorporated into armies and would be fundamental in subsequent wars. Among the new military technologies incorporated into the battlefield, we find new weapons, steamships, the railway, the telegraph, new logistical and sanitary procedures. This work seeks to expose these advances, analyzing how they influenced the military strategy of the time.
