Abstract

After World War II, there have been different interpretations, as each belligerent country has told the story according to its perspective. As a result, misunderstandings and misinterpretations of history have occurred. Especially in the confrontation between Germans and Soviets on the Eastern Front. Citadel, the 1943 German offensive in Kursk, is perhaps one of the most controversial
episodes. Most of the scholars assert that this is a decisive battle, which tipped the balance in favor of the Soviets. However, some authors do not give it that relevance. Therefore, this article seeks to determine the significance of this contest in the final Soviet victory and if it was really a decisive operation.
