Abstract

The 2006 Lebanon War was a conflict that faced Israel against the armed group Hezbollah during 33 days. This conflict is interesting to analyze, since Hezbollah employed new manners to confront the Israel military power. Likewise, this confrontation is the first time in which Israel did not obtain a categorical military victory. This implied several doubts about the real capabilities of its force to ensure the survival of the nation in the future.
This article argues that, despite the defeat, Israel managed to achieve the objective of strengthening the security of the State, without significantly compromising its economic development, because it harmonized the key instruments of national power, strengthening its Grand Strategy.
