The discipline in the Chilean ́s Army: an institutional strength

Abstract

This article deepens the importance of military discipline in the Chilean Army, its evolution and new challenges, also giving a view on the regulatory framework that supports it and that revalidates the strengthen- ing of military discipline in a conceptual way. In effect, one of the permanent tasks of every military is to increase the knowledge of the normative base that supports and subsidizes the Regulation of discipline for the Armed Forces, the above with the purpose of continuing to strengthen the disciplinary tool par excellence of the Chilean Army, previous always under the analysis and consideration of the current legal system. In this sense, the contribution of professionals with experience in the field of civil and military administrative law, as well as the experience of commanders-qualifiers in the field of the command of military units in the Army of Chile, whose contribution justifies to a large extent the continuous recall of the structural, conceptual and regulato- ry framework that supports and grants the guidelines to the military discipline of the Armed Forces in Chile. Finally, this article is addressed to all the Commanders of the Chilean Army, this is to Officers and NCOs, who execute the military disciplinary action, considering their respective levels of compe- tence and hierarchy within the military structure, highlighting that it is the duty of each individual, no matter the level, first strengthen their own discipline and at the same time demand it with the same force from their subordinates, always covered by the current legal and disciplinary regulations.
